What if ID has not been identified?


Eligibility is determined when limitations are identified in BOTH general learning and adaptive skills.

  • Substantial cognitive deficits AND
    • Working several grade levels below age-appropriate grade level
  • Adaptive skill limitations
    • Ongoing performance deficits in skill areas considered essential to successful life functioning, such as:
      • Communication, self-care, home-living
      • Social skills, community use, self-direction
      • Health and safety, functional academics, recreation/leisure
      • Work
