A Race with a Purpose
The Austin Police Department and Special Olympics Texas invite you to the Run with the Heroes 5K. Runners of all levels – beginners through advanced – are invited to participate and compete. This event features both competition and fun for all skill levels; it's a day of community and enjoyment with friends and family! Each year, the race honors all fallen heroes and their families from the Fire, EMS, and Police first responder agencies. We also honor those who serve and protect our communities every day.

Awards
Top three male and female Overall Winners
Top three male and female Masters Winners
Top three males and females in the following age groups with a commemorative medal: 14 and under, 15-19, continuing with 5 year age groups from 20 to 65+.
Top three male and female participants using wheelchairs.
All Special Olympics Texas athletes will receive a ribbon.
Police Officers, FIRE and EMS Awards*: Top three male and female finishers in each category will all receive a medal.
*Your credentials will be verified at the awards ceremony; bring your department identification with you.
