Austin, TX 8/9/2021– This October, Special OIympics Texas will host an inspirational morning to celebrate Special Olympic athletes’ achievements and successes at the Breakfast with Champions. The Austin celebration raises awareness and funds for those with intellectual disabilities. The Special Olympics Breakfast with Champions will take place Friday, October 22nd at the Austin Renaissance Hotel. Donations from the event will support Special Olympic athletes’ participation in programs such as Unified Champion Schools, athletic events, access to health care and more. Funds raised help athletes like Morgan Collins. Morgan is an outstanding Special Olympics Texas athlete competing in track and field, flag football, softball, and many more. More than that, he is a leader. Having participated in Special Olympics Global Messenger Program and Hill Day, he advocates on behalf of his fellow teammates for further inclusion in the community. “As we come back together there is no better way to celebrate the human spirit and to get re-energized than to come and see the heroes at Special Olympics tell their amazing stories,” said Tim Martin, CEO. The Austin community is invited to participate in the event, which will feature Special Olympic speakers, and our Masters of Ceremonies Connor Saeli. Registration is free and can be found on our website www.sotx.org. For more information, to make a donation, volunteer or register, https://bit.ly/BWC_Austin
