FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE : August 28, 2020

TEXAS - Toyota North America was named the Corporate Partner of the Year for their partnership with Special Olympics Texas at the 2020 D CEO Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards in Dallas on Tuesday night.

Toyota North America has supported and hosted several Special Olympics Texas events on their main campus in Plano, TX, and also serves as a statewide sponsor of the organization and a key partner in the Unified movement.

In addition, Toyota North America supports local and statewide events through volunteerism, including providing about one hundred volunteers at SOTX Summer Games in San Antonio and another one hundred volunteers at area bowling competitions in Dallas.

Toyota North America has also hosted Unified events in collaboration with FC Dallas and the Texas Legends, including chances to participate and interact with professional athletes on these franchises.

The partnership with Toyota North America has also allowed Special Olympics Texas staff to be more mobile and visible in our communities. Toyota North America has generously provided Special Olympics Texas with a fleet of vehicles that are vital for community outreach, as well as helping grow and strengthen our Unified Champion Schools program and Unified movement across Texas. Toyota North America will also be a major partner in the development of distribution centers across the state.

The D CEO Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards are presented in partnership with Communities Foundation of Texas. Out of 510 nominations received this year, Toyota North America was named one of the four finalists for the Corporate Partner of the Year award.

Special Olympics Texas is thrilled that Toyota North America was recognized for all of the great work they do, and we are looking forward to continuing to work together for years to come!
