San Antonio, TEXAS - Special Olympics Texas is joining Texas Roadhouse for the annual statewide Tip A Cop fundraiser on July 27th from 5-9PM. Members of Law Enforcement Torch Run will be servers for the evening at each Texas Roadhouse restaurant as they fundraise for SOTX athletes, who will be at each Texas Roadhouse location as the guests of honor.
Over 60 Texas Roadhouse locations statewide are participating. All money raised will go towards supporting Special Olympics Texas athletes in the area. The participating Texas Roadhouse locations can be found at https://www.sotx.org/tip-a-cop. In addition to supporting Special Olympics Texas at Texas Roadhouse during Tip A Cop, online donation links are available now on the www.sotx.org website for those who may want to donate early or who are unable to attend.
Select locations will be having multiple Tip a Cop nights from July 17-July 28th. The 2023 Tip A Cop page, https://www.sotx.org/tip-a-cop , will have the most up to date information on what dates and times your local Texas Roadhouse will be participating in Tip A Cop.
Also available this year will be a variety of LETR merchandise. Certain items can be purchased in person such as hats, the 2023 LETR® Annual Shirt, ‘Be Brave In The Attempt’ SOTX Book by Athlete Shaun Lindsay, and more. In 2022, over 250,000 dollars was raised by Law Enforcement and Texas Roadhouse during Tip A Cop to support local area athletes.
About the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. In Texas, the Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1985 and had grown to become one of the largest in the nation. In the last decade, Torch Run has contributed over $11 million through the dedication of thousands of law enforcement personnel fundraising on behalf of SOTX. The support provided by this dedicated group has contributed greatly to programs in local communities, which involve more than 44,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
