El Paso Community Foundation grants $8,000 to Special Olympics Texas for El Paso-area programs

EL PASO, Texas – The El Paso Community Foundation granted Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) $8,000 to support programming in the El Paso community. The funds will help develop sports training and competition, health, and inclusion programs within Area 19.

The El Paso Community Foundation’s support will increase the number of inclusive sport opportunities and health programs, such as Healthy Athletes and Healthy LEAP for El Paso athletes.  The El Paso Community Foundation was founded in 1977 as a leadership foundation providing support for both individuals and nonprofits. The organization has provided more than $249 million in scholarships, grants, and funding to the El Paso area.

The grant from the El Paso Community Foundation will support SOTX's mission of inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities and increase awareness of the organization's activities throughout El Paso.
