Get ready to pull for proceeds at Corpus Christi’s first annual Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Fire Truck Pull! This tug-of-war contest will take place on Friday, June 14. The Fire Truck Pull is a contest testing extreme strength as ten person teams attempt to pull a fire truck!
The Shops at La Palmera on 5488 S. Padre Island Dr. is hosting this exciting event. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by Opening Ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. and the first pull at 10:00 a.m. Awards will be handed out following the pulls. The cost to participate is $300 for teams of 10 or $30 per person. The deadline to register is June 11, however walk-up registrations are welcome. In case of inclement weather, which may result in the cancellation of the Fire Truck Pull, entry fees will remain donations for Special Olympics Texas. About the Law Enforcement Torch Run
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. In Texas, the Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1985 and had grown to become one of the largest in the nation. In the last decade, Torch Run has contributed over $11 million through the dedication of thousands of law enforcement personnel fundraising on behalf of SOTX. The support provided by this dedicated group has contributed greatly to programs in local communities, which involve more than 44,500 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
