Take the plunge on South Padre Island!

Are you brrrrave enough to test some chilly waters with Special Olympics Texas (SOTX)? Then sign up for our first annual Polar Plunge on South Padre Island! This chilly event will take place on, Saturday, February 1. Polar Plunge is our coolest event—brave folks raise pledges by jumping into some frosty water.

Clayton Beach Bar & Grill on South Padre Island is hosting the Polar Plunge. Registration will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the first plunge will be at 12:00 p.m. The cost to plunge is $60 for adults and $30 for children under the age of 18. All registered plungers will get a commemorative t-shirt, duffel bag, knit cap or one of the many other available incentives, based on the amount of donations they collect.

Click here to register as an individual or with a team. There will be various awards given out, including Best Costume, so come dressed to impress! Get ready for a frosty time at South Padre’s first ever Polar Plunge.

About the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle.  In Texas, the Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1985 and had grown to become one of the largest in the nation.  In the last decade, Torch Run has contributed over $11 million through the dedication of thousands of law enforcement personnel fundraising on behalf of SOTX.  The support provided by this dedicated group has contributed greatly to programs in local communities, which involve more than 44,500 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
