Are you ready to test some chilly waters to help raise funds for Special Olympics Texas? Then come out to our annual Polar Plunge on February 1 at the West Texas A&M-Virgil Henson Activities Center. This frigid event gives participants the chance to jump into ice cold waters while raising money for SOTX athletes.

Registration for the Polar Plunge will begin at 12:00 p.m. with plunging set to begin immediately after. The cost to participate in this frosty event is $60 for adults and $30 for children under the age of 18. Not only do you have the chance to jump into some glacial waters, but judges will announce the Best Costume award winner after the plunge. Proceeds from  this event support over 600 athletes in the Panhandle area.

About the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle.  In Texas, the Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1985 and had grown to become one of the largest in the nation.  In the last decade, Torch Run has contributed over $11 million through the dedication of thousands of law enforcement personnel fundraising on behalf of SOTX.  The support provided by this dedicated group has contributed greatly to programs in local communities, which involve close to 44,500 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
