Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) and the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) challenge you to take the toughest test in town. Register today for the Fire Truck Pull on September 28 at Jack Brooks Regional Airport in Nederland. Teams of 12 will muster all their might to pull a 55,000 pound fire truck for 50 feet. The team with the fastest pull time will be named the 2013 Fire Truck Pull Challenge Champions.
The first pull is at 10:00 a.m. The event will wrap at noon with an awards ceremony. Registration is $300 per team or $25 per person. Don’t wanna pull? …Then, get a team together for a bocce game. About the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. In Texas, the Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1985 and had grown to become one of the largest in the nation. In the last decade, Torch Run has contributed over $11 million through the dedication of thousands of law enforcement personnel fundraising on behalf of SOTX. The support provided by this dedicated group has contributed greatly to programs in local communities, which involve close to 44,500 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
