Betty Kingery has been volunteering with Area 12 Special Olympics for a long time. In 1972 she volunteered at her first event and became a coach in 1973. She has remained involved ever since. Betty currently serves on the Area Sports Management Team and is competition director for Athletics and Softball. She remains very dedicated to Special Olympics. She is a walking encyclopedia of Special Olympics Texas and Heart of Texas Area histories, just ask her. She loves to talk about it!!
