Get Ready for Spring Games in Brenham

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On your mark, get set, go for the gold!  Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) – Heart of East Texas area athletes are gearing up for the Spring Games competition in Brenham, April 26-27.  The Games will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. and end around 10:00 p.m. on Friday.  Opening Ceremonies will kick off Saturday’s competition at 9:00 a.m., immediately followed by athletics (track and field) events until about 4:00 p.m.

The two-day competition will take place at Brenham Cub Stadium, located next door to the Boys & Girls Club and the Blue Bell Aquatics Center.  All events are free to attend and open to the public.

Volunteers are needed to cheer on our athletes and be fans in the stands at the Games.  Help is also needed to set-up and breakdown the facility, assist with judging, scoring, results and awards.  For more information on volunteer opportunities, contact Rachell Baldwin (rbaldwin@sotx.org) at 936.756.6906.
