Get Ready for Spring Games in Corpus Christi

On your mark, get set, go for the gold!  Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) – South Texas area athletes are getting ready for the Spring Games competition on April 6.  The Games will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. with Opening Ceremonies, immediately followed by athletics (track and field) events at 9:45 a.m.  The Games will end with a Victory Dance and Closing Ceremonies in the gymnasium around 2:30 p.m.                                                            

The day-long competition will take place at Flour Bluff High School, located at 2505 Waldron Road.  All events are free to attend and open to the public. 

Volunteers are needed to cheer on our athletes and be fans in the stands at the Games.  Help is also needed to set-up and breakdown the facility, assist with judging, scoring, results and awards.  For more information on volunteer opportunities, contact Alice Fulton-Garza (agarza@sotx.org) in the South Texas area office at 361.857.5679. 

Before the Games begin, SOTX and CITGO will host a press conference to kick off the day-long sporting event.  Join us for the press conference at 10:00 a.m. on April 2 at CITGO, 1802 Nueces Bay Blvd, and meet our SOTX athletes, coaches and committee members.  This year marks CITGO’s 20th anniversary as a Special Olympics Texas sponsor and 15th anniversary as Presenting Sponsor of the South Texas area Spring Games,
