Register Your School for Meet in the Middle

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Celebrate inclusion and register your campus for Project UNIFY Meet in the Middle (MiM).  Meet in the Middle brings together students with and without intellectual disabilities in service learning projects, leadership activities and athletic training and competition. Students of all ages and ability levels build peer relationships while having fun, developing new skills and serving their schools and communities. The project, grant-funded by the U.S. Department of Education, is offered to schools at no cost.

In 2008, Special Olympics, Inc. and the U.S. Department of Education partnered to form Project UNIFY, an initiative encouraging typically developing and special needs students to develop greater understanding of and appreciation for each other while promoting inclusion as the norm on their campuses. Today, more than 125 Texas schools participate in Meet in the Middle.  Don’t get left out – become an advocate for positive change and join the movement!

For more information or to register your school, contact Martha Dorow (mdorow@sotx.org) at 512.491.2951 or visit www.mimtexas.org. Registration for the 2012-2013 school year ends Friday, October 12.
