Fall Classic Returns to Bryan/College Station

Thousands to Gather for State Competition, October 25-27

Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) athletes from across the state are gearing up for Fall Classic, October 25-27.  More than 1,000 athletes will compete in aquatics, bocce, flag football, golf and softball at various venues around Bryan/College Station during the two-day competition. 

Sporting events will be held Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and wrapping around 5:00 p.m. on both days. Opening Ceremonies is set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Texas A&M O.R. Simpson Drill Field, and will feature the Parade of Athletes, reciting of the Athlete Oath and the inspiring lighting of the torch.  Immediately following, athletes will cut loose at the Celebration Dance held in their honor.  All events are free and open to the public. 

Calling all volunteers!  Volunteers are needed; online registration is available at www.specialolympicstexas.org.   No previous sports experience is needed and there is a place for everyone.  It takes more than 1,000 volunteers to help with daily competitions and special events.  Call 800.876.5646 for more information.
