Volunteer Spotlight - Kathy and Ann Thompson

Ann and Kathy Thompson, a mother-daughter duo, have provided a tremendous amount of support and assistance in a variety of tasks for Special Olympics Texas – East Texas area.

They have helped the area director become more relaxed into my new role by taking time out their schedule to assist in the office and out at competitions. They never shy away from any work, from loading and unloading equipment to other various administrative duties.

Kathy has taken upon her role with great pride as an athlete who competes and also serves on the Board of Directors.  She’s a true leader and inspires other athletes to give back their time through volunteering.  Ann is a truly dedicated mother, who travels with Kathy to all the events, meeting and competitions, but still has time to help out and volunteer at souvenirs or registration.  These two make such an awesome team.

They both have truly embraced the volunteer oath and we would l like to spotlight their efforts.
