Test Your Strength to the Max

Bring on the Brawn and Sign Up for the Fire Truck Pull Today

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Show off your brawn this summer and sign up for the 3rd annual Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) Fire Truck Pull on August 26 at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. This year’s event is hosted by the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), the Round Rock Police Department, the Round Rock Fire Department and the Round Rock Express. The challenge requires teams of 12 people to put their biceps to the test and work together to pull an actual 55,000 pound fire truck 50 feet!

The Fire Truck Pull is open to the public.  Team check-in begins at 3:30 p.m.; Opening Ceremonies is set for 4:00 p.m.  The entry fee is $300 per team and teams can register online at www.sotx.org/firetruckpull.  Awards will be presented for the Fastest Team Pull and Top Fundraising Team after the competition.  All participants will receive one free ticket to the Round Rock Express final game, immediately followed by a fireworks display. The winning emergency service and civilian teams will compete in a “pull off” to be featured on the jumbotron during the third inning stretch.

“This is another great opportunity for law enforcement to demonstrate our commitment and support for Special Olympics athletes and to help raise awareness and funds for such a great cause,” said Law Enforcement Torch Run Committee member, Joseph Claypool.

Friends and relatives of participants can purchase discounted tickets to the Round Rock Express game, which starts at 6:00 p.m.  Game tickets must be bought online (use discount code pull).  For more information, contact Melissa Matherne (mmatherne@sotx.org) at 512.491.2927 or click here to register for the challenge.
