More than 145 Special Olympics Texas athletes from across the state will saddle up for the 2012 Summer Games Equestrian Competition. The competition will be held May 18-20 at the Brazos County Expo Center. Athletes will compete in a variety of equestrian events, including barrel racing, western equitation, working trails and more.
Volunteers are needed! We invite individuals, groups, families and companies to volunteer to assist with competitions and special events. Online volunteer registration is available at www.specialolympicstexas.org. For more information, call 1.800.876.JOIN, ext. 2947.
The equestrian competition is part of the state Summer Games. More than 3,000 athletes competed in athletics, basketball, cycling, gymnastics, soccer and tennis at the University of Texas at Arlington and venues in the Arlington area, May 24-27, as part of the Games.
