FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Don’t be scared; there is good luck on Friday the 13th after all! Put your suspicions aside and satisfy your appetite and your taste for support at the most delicious fundraiser in town. You’re invited to Special Olympics Texas’ (SOTX) Tip A Cop fundraiser at participating Joe’s Crab Shack restaurants on April 13. On Friday, highway patrol troopers, police officers, sheriff’s deputies and other Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) members will swap their uniforms for aprons to dish up dollars for SOTX at several Joe’s Crab Shack locations. LETR is Special Olympics’ largest grassroots fund-raiser and public awareness vehicle.
LETR members will greet and serve patrons and collect tips for SOTX athletes at the Joe’s Crab Shack restaurants in Round Rock (2401 S. IH 35) from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and at Austin Town Lake (600 East Riverside Drive) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Click here to download a flier and bring it with you so that a percentage of your check will go to SOTX.
About the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. In Texas, the Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1985 and had grown to become one of the largest in the nation. In the last decade, Torch Run has contributed over $11 million through the dedication of thousands of law enforcement personnel fundraising on behalf of SOTX.
