Special Olympics Texas Rio Grande Valley Area will be hosting 2023 Castilo Hoops Basketball Competition in a two-day event, Saturday, February 25, 2023 will be for Individual Skills Competition at Sharyland Pioneer High School

Registration Forms for the 2023 Castilo Hoops are due Friday, January 20, 2023  by 6 PM.

Final Corrections Rosters are due on Friday, January 27, 2023 by 6 PM.  

 Families: We invite you to come out and enjoy the event as a spectator and root for your best Special Olympics Texas Athletes, free of charge to enjoy. Saturday, February 25th is host to the Individual Skills Competition with the Opening Ceremonies to begin at 9 AM, and competition to follow until about 12 PM.

Athlete Safety: All athletes must have a current Athlete Release Form available in Spanish and the Communicable Disease Waiver on file with the SOTX Area Office before they can participate in any practice. If your athletes are missing either of these documents they will not be eligible to participate in the event. 

Volunteers: If you are interested in volunteering for this event or other Special Olympics Texas Rio Grande Valley Area events, you may email cowboysma_lou@yahoo.com, Mrs. Mary Lou Trinidad to request volunteer information. You may also register online through the Give Pulse platform for the Rio Grande Valley Area. Volunteers that have registered for any events must present a picture identification card upon registration in order to volunteer for the day.
