Hello Wonderful Volunteers!
SOTX would like to thank you for your support in our upcoming 2023 East Regional Spring Games that will be held Friday April 21st and Saturday, April 22nd, in Baytown. The location and important information for the event will be as followed:

Robert E Lee HS Memorial Stadium, located at 1808 Market Street, Baytown, TX 77520
EVENTS – Friday, 4/21 – ALL Cycling AND Cycling and Soccer Set up
Saturday, 4/22 - Track & Field, Soccer, Tennis Skills (only), Healthy Athletes. And Athletes Village
Dwight Lohkamp Tennis Facility 200 Lee Drive-located at the convergence of W. Texas Ave., Market St.Decker Dr.
EVENTS- All other Tennis events (Tennis Set-Up, Volunteer Check-in, Tennis Match Play, Tennis Awards)
Volunteer Registration for Robert E Lee volunteers will be located at the entrance of the track area of the station.
Volunteer Registration for Dwight Lohkamp volunteers will be held at the entrance facing Market Place
Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your shift to receive instructions regarding your shift.
We will have a QR code for sign in. If you are bringing a family member or friend who has not signed up, forms with waivers will be onsite.
AGE ELIGIBILITY FOR VOLUNTEERS: 15 years and older can volunteer by themselves. 8-14 year olds must be accompanied by parent, guardian, or chaperone. If in a group, then there must be a 4:1 ratio of children/teens to adults. 7 years and younger are not given volunteer assignments but are welcomed and encouraged to be cheerleaders as long as they are accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone.
APPAREL: Wear weather-appropriate athletic clothing and non-marking shoes. If you have one, wear a shirt that represents your organization. Most of our events are outdoors so we would encourage you to bring sunscreen, bug spray, bottled water (we will have re-fill stations), snacks, a hat, and anything else that will make your time more comfortable. The weather is expected to be 81 degrees Friday with 80% chance of rain starting out with thunderstorms, then clear skies and sunny 78 degrees Saturday. Between Friday and Saturday, the weather will start out with thunderstorms then clear skies
NO ANIMALS: Special Olympics has a no animal policy. Other than service animals, no animals are allowed at this event. Please do not bring any animals or pets with you. Most of our events are outdoors so we would encourage you to bring sunscreen, bug spray, bottled water (we will have re-fill stations), snacks, a hat, and anything else that will make your time more comfortable.
NOTE: Need a confirmation for the hours you volunteered? Be sure to let the Volunteer Coordinator know at the time of check-in and then stop by the Volunteer Registration table before you leave to pick up your verification form.
LUNCH WILL BE SERVED AT 12PM for all VOLUNTEERS and STAFF. You will receive a lunch tickets at check-in to provide to lunch crew. Lunch will be served at the registration area.
We will try to accommodate all your volunteer requests, however, due to the high volume of athletes and shift needs, you may be asked to assist with another shift.
You are allowed to wear your corporation T-shirt if you would like a separate table, we will have at volunteer sign-in.
Please see the attached map of all the event locations and designated parking and shuttle info. Shuttles will be picking up bus drivers from the Wetlands Center as well as transporting athletes, volunteers, and coaches from Lee College to Lee HS track and field area.
Please do not park in the designated areas inside Market Street. These are for our “athletes” only.
