New, Renewed, and/or Updated Medicals for athletes competing in the Area Bowling Competition are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on September 23, 2019.
Per the SOI General rules, athletes competing in an area competition, which may include certain local competitions must have a signed medical before they can begin practicing. Beginning in 2015, medicals must be on file with the area office prior to the start of training for all athletes planning on competing at an area event, or at a local competition not under an Independent School District or other agency umbrella. In 2015, any athlete who does not have an active medical prior to competition entry deadline, will be scratched from the competition. No exemptions will be made. This will include any athletes who’s medicals expire prior to competition. Please do not fax medicals to the area office, but rather scan and email.
Please CLICK HERE to access all necessary forms in the Special Olympics Texas Information Guide.
Consent for participation (bottom of the 3rd page of the medical) must be signed and dated by athlete or parent/guardian (if a minor), along with a doctor's signature (bottom of page 4), in order to be accepted.
If you have any questions, please contact the Area Office.
