While schools were closed during Spring Break last week, several groups continued the Spread the Word to End the Word campaign throughout the Panhandle area. Through the end of last week's activities, the pledges to end the R-Word reached 500.

Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) has officially announced its statewide Athletes and Coach of the Year for 2016. Among the five recipients, Kylie Tyson (Canyon), has been named the Female Athlete of the Year for the 15-21 age range.
