Celebrating an LETR Hero

Special Olympics Texas was honored to be involved with the Retirement Celebration for officer Doug Sisk as he was recognized for his 35 years of service to the Duncanville Police Department.
The City of Duncanville also declared Thursday, March 31st 'Doug Sisk Day' in their community.
Officer Sisk is involved with numerous projects but he truly is best known for his work with Special Olympics Texas and the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR).
Office Sisk serves on the LETR State Executive Council as the North Region Coordinator. He has also become nationally recognized for his innovation and work with the Duncanville PD Fire Truck Pull event. The 12- year event has consistently raised close to $25,000 a year and continues to grow in revenue and public awareness for Special Olympics Texas.
Officer Sisk has also been involved with Tip a Cops, tee shirt sales, the Breakfast with Champions event and Final Leg Runs just to mention a few.
Special Olympics Texas and the Law Enforcement Torch Run salutes Mr Sisk on a job well done. He is a great friend and hero to our athletes.
