When asked how long she’s been a volunteer, Robbie Fuertes said, “7 years. Gosh, already?” Time flies when you’re having fun, Robbie! She started her time with SOTX when our basketball competition director, Joyce Durst, asked her to fill in to help sign in volunteers at an upcoming competition, and she’s been our Volunteer Coordinator ever since.

Robbie’s infectious energy is the first thing volunteers and athletes see when they come through the doors for a competition, making her a great representative of SOTX. She handles complex situations effortlessly, problem-solving on the fly, remaining positive no matter how chaotic or difficult things get, while still managing to connect on a personal level with volunteers. She’s amazing!

When asked what her favorite thing is about volunteering, Robbie says, “I love to be part of a wonderful team who is positive, energetic, and dedicated to the Special Olympics cause. It is a world I’m so proud to be a part of.”
