How the West Won the 2023 Special Olympics Unified Sports All-Star Game
The 2023 Special Olympics Unified Sports All-Star Game was played on Wednesday, July 19 at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

On Wednesday, July 19th, 52 Unified team members, representing 26 MLS clubs met in Annapolis, Maryland for an 11 v. 11 competitive match. The 2023 Special Olympics Unified Sports All-Star Game, was played mere hours before the 2023 MLS All-Star Game in Washington, D.C. against Arsenal on July 19 at Audi Field.
Texas was well represented at the game with the Austin FC, Houston Dynamo FC, and FC Dallas all having Athletes and Unified Partners represented in the Western Conference All-Stars, who ultimately won the friendly game 6-1. It was the first time that the West took the win in four years.

Scorers for the West included Texas players Drake Pew (Austin FC), and Michael Burgess (Houston Dynamo FC). Other players from Texas that helped the West to win the All-Star Game were Matthew Wells (Austin FC), Adler Marin (FC Dallas), Maddie Dutchik (FC Dallas), and Christian Saldivar (Houston Dynamo FC).
