Special Olympics Texas wanted to highlight LETR member and treasured friend, Officer Shane Jennings! We invite all of our followers to read more about Shane and his involvement with SOTX as he has been an incredible addition to the SOTX family over the years.

"The partnership with SOTX is more meaningful and impactful to me than anything I could have ever provided or offered to the program."

Shane has worked for the Flower Mound Police Department for 25 years and has been involved as an LETR member for 12 years. He describes his involvement with our athletes as a blessing because  it provides him the opportunity to "make a positive impact with the Special Olympics athletes as a police officer and be more directly involved with a great group of individuals and their families." In addition to supporting our athletes at local competitions and events, Shane has been very involved with SOTX's Tip-A-Cop fundraisers. He states that he always leaves the event feeling more energized and with a greater appreciation for the generosity of the community members. At every event, Shane attends as a prideful member of the SOTX family and impacts our athletes, coaches, families, and supporters tremendously.

Special Olympics Texas' statewide Tip-A-Cop will be occurring on July 28th at Texas Roadhouse locations across the state. Shane stated that he hopes "to have the largest crowd ever, with the greatest showing of financial support, on a single day, at a Texas Roadhouse location." Let's show Shane, Flower Mound PD, and all of our athletes some support and help Shane's wishes come true!

We are so grateful for Officer Shane Jennings and his involvement over the past 12 years. He has impacted this organization in more ways than one and we cannot thank him enough for his continued support. From the SOTX family to you, thank you.

"It is the beautiful smiles, big hugs, genuine laughs, and larger-than-life personalities of all of the Special Olympic athletes that make my heart fill full. The combination of all that goodness is what keeps me coming back each and every year for more! Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of this tremendous group of very special humans!" - Officer Shane Jennings
