The Grand Prairie Police Department hosted its second annual Cowboy Cops Rodeo in Fort Worth during the September 11 weekend to raise funds for Special Olympics Texas. During the weekend rodeo, which featured police officers competing in various rodeo events, including bull riding and barrel racing, one of our athletes received a very special honor. The New York Police Department gave SOTX athlete Stacey Johnson an NYPD jersey with the number 23 on it. The number signifies the 23 NYPD officers who lost their lives on 9/11 in New York. What an honor for an already much-decorated athlete!
