Twenty-eight Rouse High School varsity and junior varsity boys’ basketball players, led by their head coaches Shane Krause and Robert Sainz, led 28 athletes of the Leander Lazers SOTX team in a basketball skills clinic on November 14. Five Leander Lazers’ coaches attended to support the event and assist, as well. The event was a free two-hour clinic offered in hopes of building relationships between both programs as each kicks off their basketball seasons. They participated in an hour of stations and then an hour of scrimmages. The skill levels of the SOTX athletes ranged from beginning individual skills players to experienced Unified Teams. The clinic was sponsored by the Rouse Basketball Booster Club who provided drinks, gift bags, and some parental help with registration and photography.
