Carissa Younkin is a member of the Special Olympics USA Women’s Basketball team and she's getting ready to make her way to Los Angeles for the 2015 World Games.
Her involvement in the organization and with her team – the Richardson Roadrunners – has helped her in many ways, such as with getting more exercise and making new friends; all of which have helped her gain more confidence in herself.
Other sports Younkin enjoys competing in include Aquatics, Bocce, Bowling, Golf and Volleyball . She attends Sunday School at First Baptist Richardson and My Possibilities. Her hobbies are Special Olympics sports, listening to music, going to ballgames and talking with friends.
