Jimmy Griffin,19, has been participating with Special Olympics Texas since 2008 with the Round Rock ISD Roadrunners. He competes in basketball, cycling, track & field, golf and bowling. Tell us about your family (brothers/sisters):

I have a sister named Laura who goes to college now at North Texas. I live with my Mom and Dad. My Grandpa lives nearby and comes for dinner all the time. My Grandma comes to visit us too.

 

Do you have a pet? If yes, what is it and what is its name?

Yes, I have two dogs named Macduff and Finnigan. They are a Corgi and a Chihuahua-weenie.

 

Who is your hero and why?

Pastor Catherine because she makes our Church so great.

 

Where do you have a job?

At Texas Land & Cattle over by the Lakeline Mall.

 

What is your dream job?

I would love to work at the Game Over store or maybe Main Event.

 

What sports have you trained and competed in while with Round Rock Special Olympics?

Track and field, bowling, basketball, golf and cycling.

 

What is your favorite thing to do in the summer with your family?

Go to the beach house at South Padre Island. We also go on a lot of camping trips. Last year we went to Durango, Colorado. We also camp at the beach.

 

What fun things do you like to do when you are at home?

I do Wii Fit every day and I have lots of video games to play with. I like to have sleepovers and watch movies with my friends.

 

What is your favorite sport?

Bowling. It’s a lot of fun!

 

Who is your favorite music group or your favorite song?

I like to listen to 95.5 on the radio and I like One Direction.

 

What is one thing people might not know about you?

I play the clarinet!
