Please help us welcome eight new Global Messengers for Special Olympics Texas. This weekend, these athletes learned how to write and present speeches to various audiences. The training was led by longtime Special Olympics Texas volunteer Michal Anne Lord.

The Sargent Shriver Global Messenger Program prepares athletes to become official public speakers for Special Olympics. The program allows athletes to share their skills, experiences, opportunities and enthusiasm with others, and work to increase participation in all programs. While telling their stories and educating others about Special Olympics, they end up recruit athletes, volunteers and sponsors!
