It started out as a friendly wager, but turned into so much more! Cpl. David Murphy, a Texas State Trooper, had participated in the Area 12 Polar Plunge for Area 12 for the last 2 years. This year, there was a challenge issued by first time plunger, Jay Fonville, Captain of the Lorena Fire Department and “Guns vs. Hoses” was born. The Challenge - Whoever raised the most money for Area 12 got the honor of throwing a pie in the face of the not so lucky, “loser”! Between the two of them they raised close to $2,000 with David being the clear winner. And the opportunity to smash the pie in Jay’s face. It was all in good fun and Area 12 was the definitely the winner with these two men on it’s team! Oh, and the challenge has already been issued for NEXT year’s plunge!! Stay tuned.
