SOTX athletes from across the state are gearing up for Fall Classic, October 24-26.  More than 450 athletes from 33 teams will compete in softball events at Carl Barton, Jr. Park in Conroe. 

Sporting events will be held Friday and Saturday beginning at 8:00 a.m. and wrapping at 5:00 p.m. on both days. Opening Ceremonies is set for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Lone Star Convention and Expo Center, and will feature the Parade of Athletes, reciting of the Athlete Oath and the inspiring lighting of the torch.  Immediately following, athletes will cut loose at the Celebration Dance held in their honor.  All events are free to attend and open to the public.

Shine the Light: Officer Doug Sisk, Duncanville PD

Office SIsk is heavily involved with LETR and the Special Olympics. “I have more LETR shirts than I know how to count. It’s kind of a tradition to wear the one with the big Texas flag when I go out to conferences. It’s a conversation starter. When I retire I’m going to learn how to sow and make a blanket out of them,” Sisk claimed.
