Special Olympics Texas Receives Additional $5,000 Grant from Community Foundation of West Texas

Since Feb. 2016, the Community Foundation of West Texas has provided SOTX with $10,000 in grant funds to support programming in Lubbock and the surround South Plains area.

LUBBOCK Special Olympics Texas’ (SOTX) – South Plains Area has received a $5,000 grant from the Community Foundation of West Texas. The grant will sponsor 33 SOTX athletes over 19 counties in the West Texas area, providing funds for local training and competition opportunities in Lubbock and the surrounding South Plains area.

The Community Foundation of West Texas has been very generous to SOTX during the course of 2016, as it has provided the nonprofit organization $10,000 in grant funds since February. 

The mission of the Community Foundation of West Texas is to improve the quality of life for all people in West Texas through the development of organized philanthropy.
