Ready, Set, Rappel for SOTX

Special Olympics Texas is taking FUNdraising to a whole new level (or height, rather)… 15 stories to be exact. Over the Edge will raise dollars and heart rates in downtown Austin on November 8. Geared toward the fearless or those who are looking to overcome their fears, participants will rappel 15 stories down the side of the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel at Congress Avenue and 7^th Street.

The first brave supporter will be handed the rope to rappel at 9:00 a.m., with participants going over the edge throughout the entire day. Celebrity rappellers include Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo and two Special Olympics Texas athletes. Participants should be 18 years or older by the day of the event, and weigh between 110 to 300 lbs. Each participant agrees to raise a minimum of $1,000. Every friend, family or co-worker donating $50 to help send participants Over the Edge will be entered for a chance to win two roundtrip BusinessFirst tickets on United Airlines, valued at $4,500 each. The event kicks off in Dallas/Fort Worth at the InterContinental Dallas Hotel on October 28, drops on the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel on November 8, and the final descent is in Houston at the InterContinental Houston Hotel on November 12.
