2011 Outstanding Service from Electronic Media
Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) has selected FOX34 as its 2011 Outstanding Service from Electronic Media award winner.
South Plains area TV station, FOX34, got involved with Special Olympics Texas in 2000. The station continues to promote and publicize the organization’s fundraising events and outreach efforts by running public service announcements (PSAs) and donating thousands of dollars in advertising space each year. FOX34 personalities are also supporters and have served as hosts and emcees at SOTX events.
The Outstanding Service from Electronic Media award is presented to the news organization that provides fair, accurate and positive coverage of our athletes while raising awareness of the SOTX movement. On October 21, Special Olympics Texas will present the award to FOX34 for its achievements and recognize the station at Opening Ceremonies for the 2011 Fall Classic in Bryan/College Station.
