2011 Family of the Year

Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) has selected the Calhoun-Erdman family as its 2011 Family of the Year award winner.

The Calhoun-Erdman Family of Bryan began their service to Special Olympics Texas 20 years ago.  Since then, Don, Sue, Ben and Wendy have made volunteerism a family affair.  They assist with area and chapter Games by setting up for awards ceremonies and encouraging athletes during competitions.  They also help locate practice sites for different sporting events in the Heart of East Texas area.

The Family of the Year award is presented to the family that tirelessly works together to achieve the goals and mission of SOTX.  On October 21, Special Olympics Texas will present the award to the Calhoun-Erdman family for their achievements and recognize them at Opening Ceremonies for the 2011 Fall Classic in Bryan/College Station.
