Tip a Cop for Special Olympics Texas
Statewide Fundraiser is July 27
Get ready to tip a cop after your next meal at Texas Roadhouse! The Law Enforcement Torch Run is set to serve up support on July 27 at participating locations across the state.
Tip a Cop is a hearty fundraising event that dishes up money for Special Olympics Texas (SOTX). Police officers, sheriff's deputies, highway troopers, and other law enforcement members will spend the day - in aprons - greeting and serving patrons and collecting tips for SOTX!
Participating Greater Houston area restaurants include the Texas Roadhouse locations at 18194 Gulf Freeway in Friendswood; 24020 Southwest Freeway in Rosenberg; 13345 FM 1960 Road West in Houston; 20840 Katy Freeway in Katy; and 23750 US 59 North in Kingwood. About the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. In Texas, the Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1985 and had grown to become one of the largest in the nation. In the last decade, Torch Run has contributed over $11 million through the dedication of thousands of law enforcement personnel fundraising on behalf of SOTX. The support provided by this dedicated group has contributed greatly to programs in local communities, which involve more than 36,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
