Special Olympics Texas Athlete Travels to Greece for Pre-Games Competition

Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) athlete, Steven Dimitriadis, of Krum, will travel across the globe to Athens, Greece for the 2010 World Pre-Games Competition, May 28-June 4.

Dimitriadis, 18, will join three other SOTX athletes and a coach at the Pre-Games - a trial run competition in preparation for the 2011 World Games.  The World Games will be held June 25-July 4, 2011 in Athens. 

Dimitriadis is a member of the Denton Dynamos and a junior at Krum High School.  He participates in bocce, bowling, athletics (track and field) and golf.  In Greece, he will compete in the 800 meter race, shot put and the standing long jump.  Dimitriadis is also a trumpet player in the high school band and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
