South Plains Area Spring Games

Local athletes compete in track and field events

Special Olympics Texas athletes from the South Plains area are showing off their skills at the 2010 Spring Games this Saturday, April 24, at Coronado High School.

Be a part of the excitement as athletes from 14 delegations, including 12 Lubbock ISD schools, compete in Spring Games.  The Games kick off with Opening Ceremonies at 9:00 a.m.  Competition begins at 10:00 a.m. and includes a number of events, including relays, wheelchair events and field events.  The Games will end at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Special Olympics Texas is a privately funded non-profit organization, providing year-round sports training and athletic competition for 36,311 children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the Lone Star State.
