Hundreds of runners and walkers moved their feet for Special Olympics Texas and the Jonas Brothers’ Change for the Children Foundation. Joe Jonas joined with SOTX to launch a unique family event that took place the morning of the sold-out Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009 concert date in San Antonio on August 13 at AT&T Center. This was a one-of-a-kind event; the only charity run which Joe is scheduled to participate in during the North American leg of their world tour! All participants received an iWin Joe Jonas Fun Run finisher medal made exclusively for this event. Pop rock music rising stars and Jonas Brothers tour mates, Honor Society (www.myspace.com/honorsociety), performed live for participants on race day. Honor Society, a pop rock band with a dose of R&B and urban music influences, has set the foundations for a break out year in 2009. Since the Spring, Honor Society has been named a breakout band to watch by Rolling Stone, identified as a Buzzworthy artist by MTV and earned an opening spot on one of the biggest tours of the summer as they joined the Jonas Brothers and Jordin Sparks on the North American leg of the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009. Participants wore teal ribbons in honor of Eunice Kennedy Shriver. Her spirit was remembered and celebrated, as Special Olympics Texas athletes ran, walked and volunteered in the fun run.
