Softball Tournament Swings Into Action

SOTX athletes will face off at area Softball Tournament

For Immediate Release: October 1, 2008

ODESSA – On Saturday, October 4, Special Olympics Texas athletes will compete in the area Softball Tournament at UTPB Softball Complex in Odessa.  Eight teams from ECISD, Fort Stockton, Midland, Monahans, Odessa and San Angelo will participate in the tournament.  Opening Ceremonies, featuring emcee Krista Landers from CBS 7, the reading of the athlete oath and invocation, will kick off at 9:30 a.m.  The rivals will face off at 10:00 a.m.  As athletes collect their medals, they will celebrate their victories by dancing the night away at Victory Dance at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
