Ragin’ Cajun Raises Money for SOTX

For Immediate Release: February 28, 2008

The tastes and sounds of Louisiana are coming to Lubbock.  With everything from Cajun food to live music, the Ragin' Cajun will capture the spirit of the bayou city while raising money for Special Olympics Texas.  Ragin' Cajun will be held on Saturday, April 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

Bring your appetites because this Cajun party is all about great food, including crawfish, crab legs, shrimp, sausage and more.  Enjoy star treatment, as celebrity waiters serve you!  During the event, listen to live music from several local bands.  The bash will also include live and silent auctions.  Special Olympics Texas athletes will sell Mardi Gras beads and will be part of the entertainment line-up.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available.  Tickets are $30 each and SOTX athlete tickets are $15 each; both are available at the door.  All proceeds from the event support Special Olympics Texas.  For more information, contact the South Plains area office at 806.749.7000.

Calling all volunteers!  We need people to help serve food, work in the kitchen and help with the auctions.  To sign up to volunteer, call the South Plains area office at 806.749.7000.
