Special Olympics Texas is holding a coaches training

For Immediate Release: July 31, 2008

BEAUMONT – Special Olympics Texas is calling for members of the community to serve as a role model, leader and coach to athletes from the Golden Triangle area.  Because of the popularity and growth of Special Olympics, the need is great for coaches to help athletes develop their skills to become champions!  As a SOTX coach, you have the power to lead and shape the lives of athletes in a positive way.

A coaches training for bowling will be held Saturday, August 16 at Crossroads Bowling Center, located at 4370 Dowlen Road in Beaumont from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.  The Training School will provide practical instruction in the following areas:  skills, rules and procedures, injury prevention and coaching.

Anyone interested in becoming a certified coach may attend a coaches training to learn new and adaptable skills from professionals.  With a 10-hour minimum coaches practical experience with Special Olympics athletes all those completing this training school will become a certified coach through Special Olympics Texas and Special Olympics Incorporated.
