Sunny Skies and Smiling Faces Make Fall Classic a Success
Athletes Show Off Their Skills in College Station
For Immediate Release: October 22, 2007
More than 1,400 athletes of all ages took over Texas A&M University and College Station from October 18-20 for Fall Classic. The beautiful weather was the icing on the cake, as athletes competed in golf, bocce, aquatics and softball. More than 900 volunteers donated their time to make Fall Classic a success. Thank you!
The Games started off with a bang at Opening Ceremonies on Friday evening. The audience cheered as the Parade of Athletes, accompanied by the chapter award winners, marched into the Anderson Track Complex. Athletes Ashley Muth of San Antonio and David Hernandez served as the emcees, with several athletes from throughout the state taking part in the program. President and CEO, Margaret Larsen, welcomed the athletes, coaches and family members to Fall Classic. The event also included Law Enforcement Torch Run officers from the Greater Houston and Heart of East Texas areas participating in the lighting of the torch. The spirit of Texas A&M University was present at the Ceremonies, the Aggie Wranglers danced for the audience and the Corps of Cadets Ross Volunteers escorted the delegations during the Parade of Athletes. Following Opening Ceremonies, the athletes danced and enjoyed the music at Victory Dance.
This was the first year for the Games to be held back in College Station, after three years in Waco.
