Athletes Dominate the Competition at National Golf Tournament

Texas Athletes Show Off Their Skills In Florida

Twenty Special Olympics Texas athletes and Unified Partners made Texas proud at the 2007 Special Olympics National Invitational Golf Tournament on September 14-17 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.  The athletes dominated the competition.  Click here to see results for our Texas athletes.  Click here for pictures.  Tune in to the Golf Channel's Golf Central on Wednesday, September 19 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for coverage on the tournament.  The event will also be featured on Golfweek TV.  Check out www.golfweek.com, for tournament coverage.

The athletes competed in Level 1 – Individual Skills, Level 2 – Alternate Shot Team Play, Level 3 – Unified, Level 4 – Individual Play 9 holes, Level 5 – Individual Play 18 holes.

The athletes and Unified Partners from the Greater Houston area who competed included: Katherine Richards, Houston; Don Richards (Unified Partner), Houston; David Higgins III, League City; David Higgins Jr. (Unified Partner), League City; Lee Bell, Spring; Peter Horton (Unified Partner), Houston; Jared Williamson, Allen; Jerry Williamson (Unified Partner), Allen; Kevin Harrell, Houston; Blair Claghorn, The Woodlands.
