ConocoPhillips Sporting Clays Tournament

HOUSTON – More than 600 people are expected to compete in the annual ConocoPhillips Sporting Clays Tournament, on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at the American Shooting Centers in Houston. Celebrating its seventh year as a widely popular, family-oriented event, the tournament is one of the fastest-growing charitable sporting clays competitions in Texas, with all proceeds benefiting Special Olympics Texas.

Two flights of competition are available, 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The cost is $125 per individual or $625 for a team of five. Men, women and youths (12-17 years old) are invited to participate in the event.

An array of 75-targets and unique winners' awards, door prizes, shooting games, participant goodie bags, silent auction, and complimentary breakfast, lunch and snacks make this shooting event one of the best in Houston. Additionally, the Lewis Class award system provides shooters with varying levels of abilities a chance to win. Top guns posting a perfect score may have a chance to win a new luxury car.

The safe, professional tournament also offers two optional training sessions on Friday, March 24, 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., at American Shooting Centers, with certified instructors. Sessions are an additional $40 fee per shooter.
