The Special Olympics Texas family wishes you a very happy holiday season.

Thanks to you, in 2007, Special Olympics Texas was able to:

Provide trainings and competitions for 25,841 athletes throughout the state.
Offer more than 200 competition opportunities with the help of more than 40,000 volunteers and 2,700 coaches.
Send 60 athletes to compete in the 2007 World Summer Games in China.
Offer demonstrations and training opportunities in the sport of kayaking, which will be added as an official sport in 2008.

By making a year-end gift to support Special Olympics Texas, you can help us begin working on 2008 initiatives which include:

Increasing the number of athletes involved in Special Olympics Texas programs.
Launching Camp Shriver summer camps in Texas.
Creating a statewide public awareness campaign about proper terminology when referring to people with intellectual disabilities.
Expand the Young Athletes program to include more athletes throughout the state, offering children ages 2 to 7 a chance to work on their mental and physical development before age 8.
