Clay Shoot Hits Target
Annual Sporting Clays Tournament A Success for SOTX!
For Immediate Release: March 29, 2008
More than 680 people competed in the ninth annual ConocoPhillips Sporting Clays Tournament for Special Olympics Texas on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the American Shooting Centers. Celebrating its ninth year as a widely popular, family-oriented event, the tournament was one of the largest charitable sporting clays competitions of its kind in Texas. Last year's event scored an astounding $170,000 in just one day for Special Olympics Texas athletes!
Men, women and youth (13-17 years old) competed in two flights of competition. An array of 75-targets and unique winners' awards, door prizes, shooting games, participant goodie bags, silent auction, and complimentary breakfast, lunch and snacks made this shooting event one of the best in Texas. Additionally, the Lewis Class award system provided shooters with varying levels of abilities a chance to win.
